Hard work has an entirely different meaning when you spend half the year in a different country away from family and friends. Two of our most valued and treasured employees have been doing just that year after year since 2005.  Jose Miguel Perez (Miguel) and Alvaro Perez Garcia work as installers in our hardscape division. And, although their work is impressive, the story of how they got here is quite a remarkable tale.

MIGUEL:

Miguel is a married father of three kids (Israel 15, Ana Maria 8, and Gabriel 2 ½). He and his wife, Beatriz, live in Guanajuato, Mexico. Since 2005, for 8 months out of the year, Miguel leaves his family to come to Connecticut and work the busy season at E.A. Quinn. His family is what drives him. As the lead installer, he is the last person to assess a finished project before it is handed over to a homeowner. Miguel’s penchant for precision and absolute perfection has set a new standard here at E.A. Quinn. He is best known for hard work, efficiency, quality, and safety. Miguel approaches every project with respect and decency no matter the size. To him, the greatest compliment is a happy customer and that is why we are honored to have someone like Miguel on the E.A. Quinn team.

ALVARO:

Alvaro also spends a good portion of the year away from his wife, and two kids (Juan Pablo 15 and Judith 9). His home is Tierra Blanca Guanajuato, Mexico, but he lives in Glastonbury when he works from March to November. Fifteen years ago, he came onboard at E.A. Quinn as a landscaper, but is now responsible for oversight of hardscape projects ensuring crews are on task and on time. Alvaro gives 100% at work and his co-workers would describe him as smart, respectful, and dedicated. His favorite part of the job is watching the transformation of a space. We are always appreciative of Alvaro’s honesty and hard-work and enjoy seeing his face every day.
